New Delhi : In a monumental effort to resolve a decade-long sewage crisis, Shri Satish Luthra, a renowned social worker and Congress leader from Shakurbasti, has initiated a large-scale sewage cleaning drive in Peeragarhi Village. Over 500 residents, who have been enduring backflowing sewage water into their homes, welcomed this much-needed intervention.
The sewage system in Peeragarhi Village has been completely choked for the past 10 years, causing unbearable living conditions. Residents have been forced to deal with foul smells, unsafe drinking water, and hazardous living conditions. Several families have even relocated due to the overwhelming stench and sewage flooding.
Shri Luthra, understanding the gravity of the situation, deployed a dedicated team of engineers equipped with advanced machinery to unclog the sewage system. Addressing the gathered residents, he assured them of his unwavering support and promised accountability from the authorities responsible for this negligence.
“For 10 years, the residents of Peeragarhi have lived in inhumane conditions. I stand with them and will ensure that such disregard for public welfare is not tolerated. It is time for a change,” said Shri Luthra.
The residents also highlighted past incidents of accidents due to sewage overflow and reported instances of receiving discolored water through taps. Shri Luthra’s initiative has rekindled hope among the villagers, who are now looking forward to a permanent resolution
