New Delhi, April 17, 2026: GAIL (India) Limited, India’s leading integrated energy company, has signed contract agreements with M/s TUSCO Limited for the development of a 600 MW solar power project. The project will be located at TUSCO’s Solar Park in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

Strategic Agreement Signed Between GAIL and TUSCO

The agreements were formally signed by Shri Parivesh Chugh, Executive Director (SD & Renewables), GAIL (India) Limited, and Shri Anil Tyagi, CEO, TUSCO Ltd. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Shri R K Singhal, Director (Business Development), GAIL (India) Limited, Shri Neeraj Verma, Executive Director, THDC, along with other senior officials from both organizations.

Project to Include Advanced Energy Storage Capabilities

The solar power project will be developed alongside a 550 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This integration will enhance energy reliability and support efficient utilization of renewable power.

Supporting Industrial and Clean Energy Needs in Uttar Pradesh

The project is primarily aimed at meeting the captive energy requirements of GAIL’s Petrochemical Plant at Pata in Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh. It will also cater to additional power demand arising from the electrification of gas-based equipment and upcoming Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants being developed across the state.

Strengthening Commitment to Sustainable Energy

Speaking on the occasion, Shri R K Singhal, Director (Business Development), GAIL (India) Limited, said:
“This solar project reflects GAIL’s commitment to diversifying into low-carbon and sustainable energy solutions.”

He further highlighted that the initiative reinforces GAIL’s strategy to expand its business footprint in Uttar Pradesh while contributing to the transition towards cleaner energy sources.
