India’s first long-term hotel chain for students and professionals is turning migration into a lifestyle movement
Kozhikode— Imagine arriving in a new city and finding a private, furnished room waiting for you — no landlords to chase, no broker fees, no paperwork, and no stress. Just clean sheets, Wi-Fi, solar power, and people you’ll probably end up being friends with. This isn’t a dream — it’s the daily reality at Rowstel, India’s first long-stay hotel chain, designed for young professionals, students, and urban dreamers.
Founded by Sharhabeel Parambil, and launched at the Beat Startup Synergy 2025 event in Calicut, Rowstel is an emerging lifestyle brand that sits at the intersection of hospitality, co-living, and responsible travel.
A New Way to Belong in the City
Rowstel isn’t your typical hotel — and it’s certainly not a PG. It’s more like a community for people in transition — those moving to new cities for a job, a course, a career break, or a new beginning. The rooms are private and furnished. The spaces are curated. The guests are handpicked. And the vibe? Effortlessly urban, green, and social.
Whether you’re a freelancer staying six months in Hyderabad or a student interning in Kochi for a semester, Rowstel offers a stable, stylish home — without contracts, deposits, or compromises.
“A Hotel, But for Real Life”
Rowstel’s spaces are designed to be lived in, not just stayed in. Think long-stay hotel comfort mixed with hostel friendliness and the structure of a co-living space.
Fully furnished, minimal-yet-warm interiors
Solar-powered utilities, energy-efficient lighting
Shared kitchens and community dinners
Wi-Fi work corners for digital professionals
Lush vertical gardens and eco-conscious finishes
The Founder With a Plan (and a Track Record)
Before Rowstel, Sharhabeel Parambil built and sold out an 18-villa project in Kerala — starting with just ₹25 lakhs and ending with a ₹12 crore delivery that’s now studied by students of architecture. His next vision was clear: create a national model for urban accommodation that’s welcoming, sustainable, and truly accessible.
“Cities shouldn’t be hard to live in,” Sharhabeel says. “Rowstel makes sure your life doesn’t pause when your address changes.”
At the Beat Startup Synergy event, his vision earned him widespread recognition. Mr. Sumesh, founder of BEAT School of Business, introduced him with the words:
“A man with a vision is more strong than a normal startup founder.”
A New Kind of Staycation
While Rowstel is built for long-term residents, many travelers — especially remote workers and slow travelers — are also exploring it as a base for multi-week city stays. It’s affordable, welcoming, and equipped with everything you need to live and work remotely.
Upcoming properties in Hyderabad, Kozhikode, and Bengaluru are designed to support location-independent lifestyles, with strong local community access and optional meal plans.
The Bigger Picture
Rowstel isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a movement in modern migration. In a world where people change cities, jobs, and goals every few years, the idea of “home” needs to evolve. That’s what Rowstel promises: a safe, flexible, and social home base for people on the move.
