However, actor Deepak Singh, originally from Siwan district in Bihar, has carved out a unique space in Indian cinema through sheer determination and passion for acting. With his performances in multiple languages, he has captured the attention of audiences and filmmakers alike.
Currently, Deepak Singh is in the spotlight for his much-anticipated Bhojpuri film Kariyatti. Directed by National Film Award-winning filmmaker Nitin Neera Chandra and produced by actress-producer Neetu Chandra Srivastava, the film presents Deepak in the role of Jagdish Dubey, an honest and respected teacher. However, an unexpected twist in the story leaves audiences stunned.
According to Deepak, Kariyatti is not just another film but a world-class cinematic experience that brings an international issue to Bhojpuri cinema. Praising director Nitin Chandra, he said, “He is a brilliant filmmaker with complete command over his craft. His vision and directorial style reflect beautifully in his films. I have also worked under his direction in three Chhath songs and collaborated on a song with Suresh Wadkar.”
Deepak’s cinematic journey spans Tamil, Hindi, and Bhojpuri films. A black belt in martial arts, he also honed his acting skills at Anupam Kher’s prestigious acting school, Actor Prepares.
His film career began in 2008 with the Tamil film Aegan, and in 2010, he entered Bhojpuri cinema with Deswa, where he portrayed Shankar Pandey—a role widely appreciated by audiences. Directed by Nitin Chandra, Deswa became the first Bhojpuri film from Bihar to be showcased at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
Deepak continued his journey with impactful performances in films such as Ek Bura Aadmi (2012), Aayam (2014), Once Upon a Time in Bihar (2015), and The Super Husband (2024). In 2025, he is set to impress once again with Kariyatti.
