Hyderabad, July 2026: KLH Aziznagar Campus student and Telangana Grandmaster Raja Rithvik has added another remarkable achievement to his growing list of international accolades by securing the Silver Medal (Runner-Up Trophy) at the prestigious Menuires International Chess Championship, held in France from 11th to 18th July 2026.
Representing India on the global stage, Grandmaster Raja Rithvik delivered an exceptional unbeaten performance, scoring 7.0 points from 9 rounds in a highly competitive tournament featuring 86 accomplished players from across the world. His consistency, strategic brilliance, and composure throughout the championship earned him the runner-up position among a strong international field.
One of the defining moments of the tournament came in the final round, where this KLH student produced a stunning victory over the tournament’s top seed, French Grandmaster Maxime Lagarde, in a thrilling encounter. The impressive win capped off an outstanding campaign and further reinforced his stature as one of India’s promising young chess talents.
