After Record Domestic Deals, Yash’s Toxic Continues Its Unstoppable Pre-Release Run

Even before hitting theatres, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is rewriting industry records. The film first made waves by becoming the first non-Telugu film to secure a historic ₹120 crore distribution deal with Dil Raju’s powerhouse banner Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC) for the AP–TG market—sending shockwaves across Indian cinema. Now, the momentum has surged even further with a landmark overseas acquisition.

Phars Film Secures One of the Biggest Overseas Deals in Indian Cinema

On the global stage, Phars Film, one of the most dominant overseas distributors, has acquired the international rights to Toxic’s Indian-language versions in a massive ₹105 crore advance on a commission basis. The deal is being hailed as one of the highest overseas acquisitions ever for an Indian film.

The staggering numbers highlight immense global confidence in both the film and Rocking Star Yash, reflecting massive grassroots buzz—even without a teaser release.

Indian Language Versions Alone Command Record Overseas Value

Importantly, the deal covers only the Indian-language versions—Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam—while excluding the English version. This distinction underlines the exceptional standalone overseas appeal and market strength of Toxic’s Indian-language releases.

KGF: Chapter 2 Legacy Fuels Massive Global Expectations

The industry’s confidence is rooted in Yash’s previous blockbuster, KGF: Chapter 2, which shattered records worldwide and emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film in the GCC region, alongside extraordinary performances across multiple territories. That global legacy has paved the way for Toxic to aim even higher on the international stage.

Widest International Rollout Planned for an Indian Film

Toxic is gearing up for what is being planned as the widest global release ever for an Indian film, targeting markets across the world—excluding Nepal, Japan, and China. The ambitious strategy positions the film as a major global cinematic event.

Phars Film CEO Ahmad Golchin on the Landmark Deal

“With Toxic, our goal was to present a story that resonates beyond borders. We are proud to bring this film to international audiences and excited to see its themes connect across cultures. This overseas release is a significant milestone for Phars Film, and we look forward to audiences worldwide experiencing the film’s intensity and emotional depth.”

KVN Productions on Partnering with Phars Film

Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions shared:

“Toxic has been envisioned as a film with a universal cinematic language. For a project of this scale, we needed a partner with exceptional global reach and credibility. Phars Films has consistently positioned Indian cinema powerfully across international markets, and we’re proud to collaborate on this landmark overseas distribution deal.
With their strategic expertise and expansive network, we are confident Toxic will reach global audiences with unmatched scale and impact.”

A Global Phenomenon in the Making

Following a record-shattering domestic distribution deal and a ₹105 crore overseas acquisition, Toxic is cementing its status as a worldwide phenomenon long before release. Mounted on a grand international canvas, the film promises cutting-edge VFX, world-class technicians, and a powerful storytelling universe—positioning it as a potential ₹1000 crore mega blockbuster.

About the Film

Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has been simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages.

The film features an elite technical crew, including:

  • National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi

  • Music composer Ravi Basrur

  • Editor Ujwal Kulkarni

  • Production designer TP Abid
